When 27-year-old Benjamin Spasogevich-Lee moved into a family-d o m i n a t e d Kenosha, Wisconsin neighborhood, at first he was a curiosity, but soon everyone thought he was just plain c r e e p y. Benjamin told people that his name was Elijah and that he lived with his mother, but no one had ever seen her. The man oftentimes concerned his neighbors by doing yoga in front of his house wearing only underwear. And when there were no a d u l t s around, he would approach local children and ask them very inappropriate questions.
These were obvious red flags to 12-year-old Jada Miller.
and she tried to stay as far away from him as possible. But, then one day Benjamin forced her hand and she had no choice but to get up close and personal. It was a sight that no one in the neighborhood wanted to see, but some people were probably expecting it to happen at some point. Benjamin had snatched 4-year-old Caylee Carr, and was walking away with her. As soon as Jada saw what was happening, her instincts k i c k e d in – she bolted out her front door and ran after the c r e e p!
There was no time to call 911 or knock on a neighbor’s door for help.
by then it might be too late. Although Jada had no idea what the outcome would be, in her mind she was going to stop Benjamin before Caylee came to harm. When she caught up to man, Jada immediately grabbed the little girl’s hand and told her that they were going home.
Caylee’s father was beside himself when he saw what happened,
and called the p o l i c e while Jada was running down the street. Watch the video below to find out more about Jada’s heroic rescue. Bless this little angel for being a beacon of light in a our sometimes very scary world.
